Multi-Project Volunteer
Work across our HELP programmes at the REC, from English and environmental education to sport, crafts and literacy.
- Min. 4 weeks
- 20–25 hrs/week
- Spanish: none needed

Plan and teach weekly Spanish reading and writing classes that support children beyond school.
As HELP Literacy Coordinator you'll plan the curriculum and a weekly two-hour class for children at the REC in Cerrito de la Virgen. The classes focus on improving Spanish reading and writing, supporting children outside school. You'll deliver the classes and brief and lead a team of supporting volunteers.
Running the project takes 5–10 hours a week. The rest of your time (15–20 hours) you'll work as a multi-project volunteer, teaching English in local schools and at the library, supporting the other HELP projects and Global Glow, or helping with homework clubs at the REC.
Because the classes are in Spanish, this role suits confident Spanish speakers, and it's a wonderful way to see children's confidence grow week by week.
Safeguarding comes first
Our projects work with children and other vulnerable people, so every volunteer provides a current background check from their home country and completes our first aid and child safeguarding training.
