Partners & supporters

Stronger together

Otra Cosa began as a network of people and projects, and it still is. These are the foundations, organisations and schools who help us bring education, environment and empowerment to Huanchaco.

Supporting HELP Swim, so more children in Huanchaco learn to swim and stay safe in the water.

From our 2025 delivery cycle, HELP Swim is supported by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, whose work focuses on water safety and preventing drowning.

Their backing helps us deliver swimming and water-safety lessons for children from Huanchaco's informal settlements, alongside water stewardship classes that teach them to protect the ocean they live beside.

Programme & school partners

Working side by side

Each of these partners brings something we couldn't do alone, from proven programmes to classrooms full of eager learners.
  • Programme partner

    Global Girls Glow

Global Girls Glow is a US organisation that helps girls around the world become strong women and confident leaders, built on three capabilities: agency, voice and power. Its signature GLOW Club programme runs in more than 30 countries.

In Huanchaco, five local mentors lead a three-year GLOW Club programme in Cerrito de la Virgen, San Carlos, Lomas and Las Camelias, giving girls a safe space to express themselves and think critically.

  • Programme partner

    LitWorld

LitWorld is a US-based non-profit that believes literacy opens the door to history, knowledge, creativity and democracy, and funds LitClubs in disadvantaged communities in the US and around the world.

In 2013 a LitWorld grant let us open a reading club for girls in Cerrito de la Virgen. Today our LitClubs welcome girls and boys aged 10 to 15, built around seven strengths: belonging, curiosity, friendship, kindness, confidence, courage and hope.

  • School partner

    Colegio Pitágoras

Colegio Pitágoras is one of Huanchaco's largest primary and secondary schools. Our volunteers support its English programme with classes inside the school curriculum.

In a town that welcomes visitors from all over the world, English opens doors for young people, and the pupils look forward to their lessons with our team.

  • Swim Tayka
    Programme partner

    Swim Tayka

Swim Tayka works in partnership with us on HELP Swim, helping children from our communities build confidence and essential safety skills in the water.

Three ways to work together

We're always looking for partners who share our belief in education and community-led change.
  1. Fund a programme

Trusts, foundations and companies can fund a HELP programme, a piece of equipment or a year of classes, with clear reporting on what your support achieves.

  2. Run a programme with us

Like Global Girls Glow and LitWorld, bring a proven programme and we'll bring local knowledge, trained mentors and a community that trusts us.

  3. Send students and staff

Universities and schools in the UK, Europe and beyond can partner with us on internships, research and volunteering placements.
