Structure

How we're governed

  1. Board of trustees

Our UK trustees are legally responsible for the charity. They set our direction, oversee our finances and make sure we act in the best interests of the communities we serve. The board is chaired by our Co-Director, Peter Murphy.

  2. Directors

Peter Murphy (Co-Director) and Juany Murphy (Director of International Relations) lead our strategy from the UK, look after UK finances and build partnerships with institutions across the UK and Europe.

  3. Management team in Peru

Our Senior Projects & Operations Manager and Projects & Operations Manager run the programmes, the volunteer house and day-to-day operations in Huanchaco, supported by a team of volunteer coordinators.

Annual reports & accounts

Annual reports will be published here

We're bringing our annual reports and accounts together in one place. Until then, you can view the documents we file each year on the Charity Commission register (opens in a new tab), or email info@otracosa.org for a copy.

Safeguarding

Children's safety comes first

We work with children and families in vulnerable circumstances, and protecting them is part of everything we do.

  • All volunteers complete safeguarding and first aid training, and our coordinators receive certified training in First Aid and Child Safeguarding.
  • A Safeguarding Lead on our management team receives and acts on every concern raised by staff and volunteers.
  • On this website we never name children alongside identifiable photos, and we strip location data from every image.
